Il 4° Nishan Forum Mondiale si è tenuto a Qufu, luogo natale di Confucio, Provincia Shandong, Repubblica Popolare Cinese, il 16 e 17 novembre 2016.

Il tema è stato: Cultura Tradizionale e Civiltà Ecologica insieme per la Semplicità della Vita.

Oltre 250 studiosi, docenti universitari, leaders politici e religiosi, provenienti da tre continenti, hanno esposto le loro tesi su come ottenere questo scopo.

Ringrazio il Comitato Organizzativo e in particolare il presidente Xu Jialu 许嘉璐, per avermi invitato e dato l'onore di tenere la mia conferenza alla apertura dei lavori del Forum.

La tesi che ho presentato è che, al di la delle belle parole e delle buone intenzioni che tutti noi siamo capaci di dire, se vogliamo cambiare la situazione attuale, dobbiamo puntare all'origine dei comportamenti.
Dobbiamo rivedere i Valori che animano la nostra civiltà.

In sintesi ho detto che senza :
1. valori umanitari centrati sulla sacralità della persona umana e di tutti gli altri esseri,
2. il ritorno a uno stile di vita semplice e frugale, in cui si punta all'essenziale, ai veri bisogni invece che a quelli artificiali imposti da una cultura dell'effimero, per fini economici o finanziari,
3. lo sfruttamento e la distruzione insensata dell’ambiente

diventa molto difficile, se non impossibile, in questo momento di globalizzazione ma anche di crisi sociale e ambientale, ottenere:
1. uno sviluppo ecologico sostenibile che riduca a zero il debito ecologico,
2. una società senza corruzione e povertà,
3. una buona vita se non il benessere delle persone,
4. l'armonia fra i popoli e la stabilità mondiale.

Per questa ragione dobbiamo dare individualmente grande attenzione e i Governi devono dare il loro contributo, al dialogo fra le differenti civiltà, culture, associazioni, e religioni.

In chiusura ho mostrato quanto la Chiesa Taoista d’Italia, con il sostegno della Associazione Taoista Cinese e in particolare del suo presidente, il rev. Maestro Li Guangfu, ha fatto negli ultimi 25 anni e continuerà a fare per promuovere i grandi Valori umanitari e la preservazione dell’ambiente, nella prospettiva di avere una civiltà ecologica ma soprattutto una umanità più umana.

The 4th World Nishan Forum was held in Qufu, the native place of Confucius, Shandong Province, People's Republic, on 16 and 17 November 2016.

The theme was: Traditional Culture and World Ecological Civilization toward a Life of Simplicity.

Over 250 scholars, academics, politicians and religious leaders from three continents presented their theses on how to achieve this.

I thank the organizing committee, and in particular the chairman Xu Jialu 许嘉璐, for inviting me and given the honor to hold my lecture at the opening session of the Forum.

The thesis presented by me is that beyond the fine words and good intentions that we are able to say, if we want to change the present situation we must aim at the origin of the behavior.
We must review the values that animate our civilization.

I am convinced that Simplicity of life is a prerequisite for ecological civilization and without:
1. humanitarian values centered on the sacredness of the human person and of all other beings,
2. a return to a style of simple and frugal life, which aims to essentials, to the true needs rather than artificial ones imposed by a culture of the ephemeral, for economic or financial purposes,
3. exploitation and senseless destruction of the environment

it will be very difficult, if not impossible, in this time of globalization but also of social and environmental crisis, obtain:
1. sustainable ecological development that reduces to zero the ecological debt,
2. a society without corruption and poverty,
3. a good life if not the welfare of the people,
4. harmony among peoples and world stability.

For this reason we must give great individual attention and Governments must give their contribution to the dialogue between different civilizations, cultures, groups, religions.

In closing I showed what the Taoist Church of Italy, with the support of the Chinese Taoist Association, and in particular its President, Reverend. Master Li Guangfu, has done for the past 25 years and continue to do to promote the great humanitarian values and the preservation of the environment, in the prospect of an ecological civilization but above all a more humane mankind.

Ieri, come leader della Chiesa Taoista d'Italia, sono stato invitato dal Pontificio Consiglio per il Dialogo Interreligioso, a prendere parte, insieme a quasi duecento altri leaders religiosi, all'incontro sulla misericordia voluto da Papa Francesco.
Ho ascoltato con molta attenzione le parole del Santo Padre anche perché nel suo discorso ha citato un passo del cap. 76 del Dao De Jing.
Indubbiamente le sue parole e riflessioni sulla misericordia toccano il cuore di ogni credente.
La Chiesa Taoista fa sue le parole del Papa, non solo perché sono parole di Verità ma anche perché ce le ha già nelle sue Scritture tanto che dedicammo il 2014 alla promozione della compassione

Nel brevissimo incontro che ho avuto con lui alla fine dell’incontro, gli ho assicurato la presenza e la disponibilità della nostra Chiesa per la promozione delle Misericordia come valore umano, citando a mia volta il cap. 67 che la mette al primo posto tra i grandi valori taoisti.

Yesterday, as a leader of the Taoist Church of Italy, I was invited by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, to take part, along with nearly two hundred other religious leaders, at the meeting on the mercy requested by Pope Francis.
I have listened very carefully to the words of the Holy Father also because in his speech quoted a passage from the cap. 76 of the Dao De Jing.
Undoubtedly his words and reflections on mercy touch the heart of every believer.
The Taoist Church echoes the words of the Pope, not only because they are words of truth but also because it has them already in its Scriptures so that we dedicated the year 2014 to the promotion of compassion

In the very short meeting I had with him at the end of the meeting, I assured the presence and availability of our Church for the promotion of Mercy as a human value, citing in turn the cap. 67, which it puts it in first place among the great Taoist values.

La Chiesa Taoista d’Italia,
rappresentata dal Prefetto Generale Rev. M° Li Xuanzong,
è stata invitata a presenziare ai lavori della Conferenza Internazionale sulla Fede e lo Sport, "Sport at the Service of Humanity", svoltosi in Vaticano, nei giorni 5,6 e 7 ottobre 2016.

Erano presenti 300 delegati provenienti da tutto il mondo per testimoniare come i valori che animano lo sport e la fede, quale ad esempio l’inclusione, possono essere un effettivo strumento per assicurare un futuro di pace e solidarietà all’intera umanità.

La conferenza è stata promossa dal Pontificio Consiglio della Cultura del Vaticano,
diretto da S.E. Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi,
a cui va la gratitudine mia e della nostra Chiesa, per la cordiale amicizia,
insieme con le Nazioni Unite e il Comitato Olimpico Internazionale.

La cerimonia di apertura è stata magnifica, per la maestosità della location, l’Aula Paolo VI in Vaticano, per la coreografia, le esibizioni di campioni di varie discipline, le grandi personalità intervenute, come il segretario Generale dell’ONU Ban Ki-moon e il presidente del CIO, Thomas Back.

La vera grande emozione per me, è stata l’abbraccio fraterno con Papa Francesco.
Credo sia la prima volta che questo avvenga tra un leader religioso Taoista e il Papa.
Un momento storico che ci conferma la speranza per un futuro di dialogo e collaborazione, tra la Chiesa Taoista d’Italia e la Chiesa Cattolica, a beneficio di tutta l’umanità.

The Taoist Church of Italy,

was invited to attend the proceedings of the International Conference on Faith and Sport "Sport at the Service of Humanity", held in the Vatican, on days 5,6 and 7 October 2016.

Over three hundred delegates came from all over the world to witness how the values that animate the sport and faith, such as the inclusion, can be an effective tool to ensure a future of peace and solidarity to all humanity.

The conference was organized by the Pontifical Council for Culture of the Vatican,
directed by S.E. Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi,
to which I express my and our Church gratitude, for the cordial friendship,
together with the United Nations and the International Olympic Committee.

The opening ceremony was magnificent, for the majesty of the location, the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican, for the choreography, the performances by various disciplines, the big personalities intervened such as the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the president of the IOC, Thomas Back.

The deep emotion for me, was the fraternal embrace with Pope Francis.
I think it is the first time that this happens between a Taoist religious leaders and the Pope.
A historical moment that confirms the hope for a future of dialogue and cooperation, between the Taoist Church of Italy and the Catholic Church, for the benefit of all mankind.

Dopo i riti, insieme al Rev. M° Lee Zhiwang, presidente della Taoist Mission di Singapore, egli ha dato ai membri del corpo ecclesiale italiano, il suo insegnamento umano e spirituale, parlando da cuore a cuore secondo la più antica tradizione.

A great honor for the Taoist Church of Italy.
For the first time in the history of Taoism, the leader of the Chinese, the Rev. Grand Master Li Guangfu, sets foot in a Taoist temple in the West.

After the rites, along with the Rev. Master Lee Zhiwang, president of the Taoist Mission of Singapore, he has given to the members of the Italian ecclesial body, his human and spiritual teaching, talking heart to heart according to the ancient tradition.

Cina e Italia.
Culle di due civiltà che sono state faro dei due emisferi della terra.
Due civiltà che si cercano reciprocamente da 2000 anni, perché hanno infiniti aspetti e interessi in comune.
La ricerca di un contatto è sempre stata viva, specialmente attraverso la Via della seta ma non meno dalle vie marittime.
L’impero Romano e quello Cinese non sono mai giunti a un contatto diretto, ma se questo fosse avvenuto, l’impatto geopolitico avrebbe cambiato la storia del mondo.
Oggi le immense distanze dell’Asia non sono più il limite per la conoscenza reciproca e gli interessi comuni.
La volontà di progredire insieme, è dimostrata dal magnifico evento di oggi.

Da ambo le parti ci sono state e ci sono persone innamorate dell’altra civiltà e la promuovono nelle loro rispettive nazioni.

Personalmente io sono una di queste persone.
Sono arrivato in Cina nel 1991 per studiare all’università di educazione fisica di Pechino.
L’impatto che ebbi fu travolgente.
Di là dell’ovvio interesse culturale, mi piaceva il rapporto tra professori e studenti.
Essi pretendevano il massimo ma lo facevano con gentilezza, spronando piuttosto che giudicando.
Un approccio didattico molto raro da vedere presso le nostre università.

Vivendo nel campus mi sono reso conto che il livello culturale era altissimo e che gli italiani potevano imparare moltissimo dai colleghi cinesi.
Ricordo una frase che mi disse un mio collega, oggi professore all’Università di Tianjin:
“In Italia è facile arrivare all’università. Difficile è uscirne.
In Cina è difficile arrivare all’università ma è facile uscirne”.

L’attenta disponibilità dei posti universitari, in base alle disponibilità del mondo produttivo, dovrebbe essere un modello da imitare, per costruire un futuro certo ai nostri figli.

Nel 1993 fondai l’Istituto Internazionale di Educazione Fisica Cinese, divenuto poi, per sei anni, il rappresentante ufficiale in Italia dell’Università, per conto della quale, abbiamo organizzato corsi di formazione a vari livelli.
Centinaia di persone si sono avvicinate alla medicina e alle pratiche della salute cinesi.
Delegazioni cinesi sono state nostre ospiti per anni.
Entrambi abbiamo guadagno cultura e conoscenza ma soprattutto relazioni umane.

Il mio amore per la Cina trovò la sua realizzazione nello stesso anno, quando incontrai il Taoismo.

Il Confucianesimo ci permette di capire lo Stato cinese, il suo ordine, le sue posizioni quasi immutabili, la sua burocrazia, a volte esasperante, ma che danno stabilità alla nazione.
Se, invece, volete capire come sentono la vita i cinesi, studiate il taoismo.
Che non è solo una visione della vita o una religione come le altre.
Il Taoismo è l’anima del popolo cinese.

Nello stesso 1993 fondai l’Associazione Taoista d’Italia, oggi divenuta Chiesa riconosciuta come punto di riferimento non solo dalle altre religioni in Italia ma a livello internazionale, grazie alle nostre attività di promozione socio-culturale.

Ad esempio, il prossimo 21 maggio ci sarà la “Giornata dell’Umiltà” cui hanno aderito non solo l’Associazione Taoista Cinese che sarà presente con il Presidente, il Rev. M° Li guangfu, ma anche altre associazioni taoiste europee e asiatiche, più rappresentanti del vaticano e capi delle più importanti religioni presenti in Italia.

Negli ultimi 23 anni la Chiesa ha portato il Taoismo e con esso la cultura e la civiltà cinese, a contatto con migliaia di persone in Italia.
Sotto l’egida dell’Associazione Taoista Cinese, che ci ha sostenuto e ci sostiene, intervenendo a tutte le nostre attività internazionali, siamo cresciuti.

I simboli taoisti sono entrati a far parte dell’immaginario collettivo occidentale e lo sarà sempre di più.
Quando ho tenuto le prime conferenze, il Taoismo era un emerito sconosciuto nel panorama culturale italiano.
Oggi, provate a fare una semplice ricerca su internet.
In Italia ci sono quasi mille siti che parlano di Taoismo.
Nel mondo circa un milione e mezzo di siti.

Il Taoismo riscontra l’interesse delle persone comuni.
Esse trovano nel Taoismo risposte che l’occidente ha perso quasi del tutto.
Per questo il Taoismo è un veicolo straordinario per far conoscere la cultura e la civiltà della Grande Cina.

Dall’altra parte l’Anima della Cina, e lo Spirito dell’Italia, hanno bisogno l’una dell’altro.
Essi sono il rovescio della stessa medaglia.
Insieme vogliono dire: collaborazione, interessi comuni, crescita e protezione reciproca.

Pur rimando nelle nostre diverse identità storiche, possiamo lavorare per un progetto comune, per il nostro interesse reciproco ma soprattutto per il benessere e la stabilità internazionale.

La mia esperienza, che porto qui come testimonianza, è solo un piccolo esempio ma che dimostra un grande assioma, se abbiamo gli occhi fissi sulla stessa meta:

Insieme si può!

China and Italy.
They are cradles of two civilizations that have been the lighthouse of the two hemispheres of the earth.
They are two civilizations that seek each other for two thousand years, because they have infinite aspects and interests in common.

The search for a contact has always been alive, especially through the Silk Road but not least by sea routes.
The Roman Empire and the Chinese have never come to a direct contact, but if that were the case, the geopolitical impact would change the history of the world.
Today the immense Asia distances are no longer a limit to the mutual understanding and common interests.

The will to make progress together, is demonstrated by the magnificent event in which we participate today.

From both sides there have been and there are people in love of the other civilization, and promote it in their respective nations.
Personally, I'm one of these people.
I arrived in China in 1991 to study at Beijing University of Physical Education.
The impact that I had was overwhelming.
Beyond the obvious cultural interest, I liked the relationship between teachers and students.
They claimed the best but they did it with kindness, spurring rather than judging.
It is a rare didactic approach to see in our universities.

By living on campus, I realized that the cultural level was very high and that the Italians could learn a lot from the Chinese colleagues.
I remember a phrase that told me my colleague, now a professor at the University of Tianjin:
"In Italy it's easy to get to university. It is difficult to get out.
In China it is difficult to arrive at the university but it is easy to get out".

Careful availability of university seats, depending on availability of the productive world, should be a model to imitate, to build a secure future for our children.

In 1993 I founded the International Institute of Physics, Chinese Education, who later became, for six years, the official representative in Italy of the University, on whose behalf, we organized training courses at various levels.
Hundreds of people approached to medicine and the Chinese health practices.
Chinese delegations have been our guests for years.
We both gain knowledge and culture but above all human relations.

My love for China found its realization in the same year, when I met the Taoism.

Confucianism allows us to understand the Chinese state, its order, its positions almost immutable, its bureaucracy, sometimes exasperating, but that give stability to the nation.
If, instead, you want to understand how the Chinese feel life, studied Taoism.
Which it is not only a vision of life or a religion like any other.
Taoism is the soul of the Chinese people.

In the same 1993 I founded the Taoist Association of Italy, today it has become the Church recognized as a reference point not only from other religions in Italy but internationally, thanks to our socio-cultural promotion activities.
For example, next May 21 there will be the "Day of Humility" which bind not only the Chinese Taoist Association that will be present with the President, the Rev. Master Li Guangfu, but also other European and Asian Taoist associations, more representatives of the Vatican and leaders of the major religions in Italy.

For the past 23 years the Church has brought Taoism and with it the culture and Chinese civilization, in contact with thousands of people in Italy.
Under the auspices Taoist Association of China, who has supported us and supports usby intervening to all of our international business, we have grown.

The Taoist symbols are joined Western collective imagination and always will be more.
When I held the first conference, Taoism was completely unknown in the Italian cultural scene.
Today, try to do a simple search on the internet.
In Italy there are nearly a thousand sites that talk about Taoism.
There are about one and a half million sites in the world.

Taoism found the interest of the common people.
They find answers in Taoism that the West has almost lost.
For this reason Taoism is an extraordinary vehicle to raise awareness of the culture and civilization of Greater China.

On the other side the Soul of China and the Spirit of Italy need each other.
They are the reverse of the same coin.
Together they want to say: cooperation, common interests, growth and mutual protection.

While remaining in our different historical identities, we can work to a common project, for our mutual interest but also for the well-being and international stability.
My own experience that I bring here as a witness, it is just a small example but it shows a great axiom if we have our eyes on the same goal:

Together we can!

Good life for all of us.

Continua con successo l’opera di divulgazione della religione e delle tecniche di salute taoista in Italia.
Lo dimostra il grande interesse dei partecipanti a questo seminario presso Artideltao di San Benedetto del Tronto.
Sono stati affrontati temi quale storia, filosofia, religione (liturgia quotidiana; Uomini,Dei e Spiriti), etica, pratica quotidiana, rapporto fra l’uomo e il cosmo.
L’evento è stato possibile grazie agli sforzi del nostro Fiduciario, Gabriele Vagnoni, cui vanno il nostro ringraziamento e il plauso per l’opera volta.

Successfully continues the work of spreading the religion and the Taoist health techniques in Italy.
This is demonstrated by the great interest of the participants in this seminar at Artideltao of San Benedetto del Tronto.
Covered topics such as history, philosophy, religion (daily liturgy; Men, Gods and Spirits), ethical, everyday practice, the relationship between man and the cosmos.

La Maratona Dantesca è la lettura ininterrotta della Divina Commedia promossa a Caserta per il 750esimo della nascita di Dante il 9 e 10 gennaio 2016 nella Reggia.
E' stato un onore per me dare il mio piccolo contributo, quale Prefetto Generale della Chiesa Taoista d'Italia, ma soprattutto come Casertano, nel leggere il Sommo Poeta italiano.

Dant's Marathon is the uninterrupted reading Dante's Divine Comedy promoted in Caserta for the 750th of Dante's birth on 9 and 10 January 2016 in the Royal Palace.
It was an honor for me to give my little contribution, as General Prefect of the Taoist Church of Italy, but especially as Caserta son, in reading the Italian Supreme Poet.
